What is the Benevolence Fund?

The Benevolence Fund is a limited financial fund made available by application to Pleasant Grove members who are struggling financially. You must have been a member at least 6 months to qualify. The money is granted as a gift, and repayment is not expected. However, if you are blessed in the future and would like to help someone else, you may repay the gift. It will be used to help someone else in need.

The Purpose of the Benevolence Fund:

The purpose of the benevolence fund is to provide financial aid to an individual at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, who is in need of an urgent basis. The benevolence fund may not be applicable to cases that need long-term financial support. The church has the right to adjust or decline an applicant's request. It may consider providing assistance other than monetary help.

Applicants are not granted financial assistance based on relationships between church leaders or being a significant church contributor. The church does not discriminate between applicants based upon race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, geographic territory, or disability.

Benevolence Fund Parameters

Benevolence Funds can only be granted based on the merit of the requestor's application to meet primary short-term needs. These needs are defined as those necessary for physical, emotional, and spiritual survival. These needs are as follows:

Benevolence funds can only be granted to a requestor or requestor's immediate family one time during the 12-month period after assistance has been approved and paid.

A maximum of $200 is available for assistance toward approved applications.
